A journey to Bach's Chaconne in D minor

Sara Mohr-Pietsch maps a musical landscape around Bach's chaconne with works by Tarquinio Merula, Johannes Brahms, Lou Harrison, Jeff Buckley and Niccolo Paganini.

One of the longest and hardest solo pieces ever written for the violin, the Chaconne is the fifth and final movement of J.S Bach's Partita No. 2 in D Minor, BWV 1004.
