Armenia
In September 2023, over 100,000 people fled Nagorno-Karabakh – almost the entire Armenian population. Internationally recognised as part of Azerbaijan, they recaptured it followng a rapid military campaign, almost 30 years since Armenia had gained control of the territory. That conflict in the early 1990s resulted in the exodus of Azeris from both Nagorno-Karabakh surrounding regions. Today, its former Armenian population are refugees in Armenia itself. ·¡Ã²°ù±è²¹ has met some of them as they try to re-build their lives and have also heard Armenia and Azerbaijan’s positions on the enclave’s future – with peace talks ongoing.
