Dana Gillespie joins Cerys to share her favourite blues records and to tell us about her latest album First Love which was produced by Marc Almond and Tris Penner.
The album was recorded with the musicians in Dana's Blues Band and includes the song Brewer Street Blues, written by Marc Almond. The song captures an area where Dana grew up in the sixties, going to drum lessons and dance classes in Soho. The album also features covers of tracks originally by Green Day, Bob Dylan, Jake Bugg, Morrissey, Lana Del Rey, Stevie Nicks and David Bowie. Bowie himself played a significant role in Dana's life in the sixties and seventies penning her the hit track Andy Warhol and Dana sang on Ziggy Stardust.
