The Clash of the Titans
Antiques aficionados Margie Cooper and Mark Hill take in the sights of Yorkshire behind the wheel of an MGB Roadster, splashing their cash on hidden gems to take to auction.
We’re bouncing along on a brand new road trip from Yorkshire to Edinburgh with never-before-seen pairing Margie Cooper and Mark Hill. Their chariot is a bright yellow 1980 MGB Roadster, and they each have £200 to spend on each leg of the trip. The winner will be the expert that wins the most auctions in our ‘best-of-five’ competition.
The first leg of the trip takes our duo across the sights of South Yorkshire. Along the way, Mark finds himself enchanted by a series of pencil-related discoveries, inspiring him to scribble together a charming desk-related job lot, before going on a bit of a mid-century spending spree and picking up an antique of the future. Margie makes a 20th-century discovery of her own, splashing her cash on an art deco gas heater. She also finds herself at one with the animals, uncovering some very interesting equestrian items and making friends with a few cheeky parakeets.
As they make their way through the town of Dewsbury, Mark and Margie uncover a hidden musical legacy before Margie puts on an exclusive performance for her rival.
Who will come out on top to claim the first victory of the week?
