It’s the start of a new trip in Kent, with our newly acquainted experts –queen of ceramics Irita Marriott and king of jewellery Ishy Khan – driving a 1971 Sunbeam Rapier.

Their maiden voyage begins with a trip around the Kent countryside. With £200 per leg each in their pockets, they will be spending their way through to the end of their road trip, loaded with antiques and antiquities they discover along the way. Whoever wins the most auctions will be crowned the ultimate road trip champ.

Ishy heads straight for a big hitter in Appledore, in the form of a vintage fairground mallet, whilst Irita is entranced by an art deco French-gilded mantel clock.

They both explore the folk tale of early conjoined twins Mary and Eliza Chulkhurst in Biddenden, whose legend evolved into the form of the very collectable Biddenden biscuit.

On the way, Ishy searches for more sustenance in the form of Kent cherries, and as if their jaunts, japes and general adventures aren’t enough, there is a nail-biting auction to crown our first winner of this adventure.
