Episode 7
It's crunch time for Cari as she finds out if she鈥檚 been signed off to go solo, and Christian supports a man in crisis.
The rookies are fast approaching the end of their three months of tutorship. At 21, Cari is the youngest of the rookies, but she could also find herself the first to be signed off to go solo. It鈥檚 her last week of training, and she faces two firsts: the first time she has to take the lead in an arrest of two serial shoplifters; and the first time she has to question suspects in custody, without her tutor being with her. All goes well, but has Cari done enough to be signed off by the sergeant to go solo as an independent officer?
Drew, Rhys and their tutor Dan are out on patrol in Ebbw Vale on a busy Friday night, and their first emergency call soon comes in. Two men are fighting in the street, and when they arrive, they find one man bleeding heavily from his nose and the side of his face and another man on the opposite side of the road who is also worse for wear. With both men drunk and blaming each other, their priority is getting the bleeding man treated.
Someone is reported missing every 90 seconds in the UK, and Gwent Police alone deal with more than 4,500 calls involving missing people every year. In Chepstow, Christian and experienced officer Megan are responding to an emergency call. A man has gone missing after telling a family member he wants to end his life. With winter temperatures hitting freezing, the race is on to find him.
