Rocester
Lee and Flo are in Rocester to create a budget-friendly, wildlife-focused space for Julie and Phillip.
Julie and Phillip are like ships that pass in the night as she works on shifts in an emergency unit. They have 拢3,000 available to convert their garden, currently surrounded by brick walls, into a wildlife-focused space to spend more time in when they do get a chance to be together.
The first challenge is to make the budget go as far as possible, so the team source patio slabs that match the current ones to produce a bigger social space. A timber, curved path is another clever budget-friendly feature. But with wildlife the key to the garden, Lee鈥檚 rabbit out of the hat is a set of amazing bat boxes. Flo builds three custom boxes for the lower part of the garden, while Lee puts up a four-metre high freestanding 'bat post'.
