A Joyous Exploration with Hannah Peel

Award winning composer and musician Hannah Peel joins Cerys and we open the first door on the musical advent calendar with the help of jazz bandleader Giacomo Smith

Award winning composer, musician and broadcaster Hannah Peel chats to Cerys to tell us about her latest project. Hannah is teaming up with Richard Norris to chart a musical history through iconic instruments for 6 Music Instrumental.

Keyboard player, composer and producer Jessica Lauren pops by, she's recently re-issued her album FILM, which was recorded in 1997 and was released on CD only in 1999. The album blends modal jazz, electronica, field recordings using acoustic and electric pianos, harpsichords, synths and digital techniques.

Plus Cerys opens the first door on her musical advent calendar with the help of jazz bandleader Giacomo Smith. All nestled alongside Cerys' mix of music from around the globe, spanning all eras and genres from blues to beats, soul to ambient and folk to rock. This week her Sunday selection includes tracks from Alice Phoebe Lou, Bob Dylan, The Meters and Amanda Whiting.
