Highlights from the Edinburgh International Music Festival and early music from Italy

Tom McKinney showcases the best performances from the UK and beyond, including music from Italy鈥檚 RAI National Symphony Orchestra and the Edinburgh International Music Festival.

Today's Classical Live features specially recorded performances from this year's Edinburgh International Music Festival. The multi-award-winning Japanese violinist Midori performs with her long-time recital partner, American pianist 脰zg眉r Aydin in a dazzling programme including Gabriel Faure's Violin Sonata No 1 Op.13.

There will also be music from Italy. The RAI National Symphony Orchestra will perform Benjamin Britten's Four Sea Interludes, from 'Peter Grimes' and Mieczys艂aw Weinberg's Cello Concerto in C minor, with soloist Enrico Dindo. Additionally, there will be some baroque music - Concerto Copenhagen perform Bertali's Ciacona for violin and continuo and Collegium Marianum perform Corelli's Trio Sonata in B minor.
