Episode 3
Nigel Havers presides as five sellers aim to get the best price for their items, including a 1950s fridge, vintage dolls, lampshades, a ride on fire engine and an antique calculator.
Nigel Havers welcomes five more sellers to the Bidding Room, where they try to sell items to professional dealers who are on the lookout for interesting pieces, with help from expert Simon Bower.
First through the doors is Sam. she's brought along her dad Bill as well as a fridge that’s been in the family for generations. Once owned by Bill’s mother, it’s been inherited by Sam, but she’s reluctantly putting it up for sale to make way for a bigger, more modern fridge. Can any of the dealers’ bids match the value of 70 years of family memories?
Next in is Neil with an interesting attic find. The range of vintage dolls could be a nightmare for some of the dealers, but with one teddy bear tucked in amongst the lot, Adi is sure to pounce on this intriguing collection.
Third into the room with a mysterious charity shop purchase is Doreen. Her glass lampshades leave the dealers scratching their heads, but once she unveils their origins, there could be a scramble to be the highest bidder in order to secure them.
Arriving at Edinburgh HQ next is Hayley, travelling from Wales with a ride on fire engine. Fellow Welshman Simon is on hand to give her all the information she needs to get the dealers fired up and, hopefully, spark a bidding war for her fire engine.
Finally, it’s Mike with an antique calculator. Once belonging to Mike’s late friend, a car boot sale enthusiast, Mike now wants to sell the calculator to raise funds for a special cause. But can he make his time in the room count and really tot up a good deal?
The dealers are Ian, Jacqui, Adi, Jo and James.
