Trunk calls

An elephant walking across the bai calls and researcher Andrea Turkalo identifies it as a lost juvenile, separated from its family. Elephants have phenomenal hearing and technology is helping researcher Andrea Turkalo record the elephant calls, even the very low frequency calls normally inaudible to humans. Andrea can now identify 10 different types of call and she's even discovered that each family has their own distinctive voice. When a young baby elephant is separated from its mother and gives a loud, shrill call, the mother reacts almost instantly, and goes to find her baby to reassure it.
