Winter:Woodland

The programme features ancient trees in the New Forest; a Victorian arboretum at Castlewellan, County Down in Northern Ireland, and some inspiring birdsong at Hardcastle Crags in West Yorkshire.

Chris Packham and team continue their seasonal guide to the best places to see winter wildlife with a trip to the woods. Chris is on home ground in the New Forest to see the giant sea trout leave the sea and head up the shallow forest streams, while Janet Sumner visits Castlewellan in Northern Ireland and Sanjida O'Connell meets the northern hairy wood ants of Hardcastle Crags in West Yorkshire.
