On the beaches of Northern Australia, the sand bubbler crab must work at break neck speed to feed as much as possible in between each tide. Working throughly across the top layers of the beach, the crab passes each grain of sand through its mouth, filtering out all the microscopic animals. It then discards the rest as small balls of sand. Timelapse shows how much ground they cover in this short window of time.
