Lawrence Pollard hears tales of East London, featuring London's Air Ambulance, a Thames waterman and Columbia Road Flower Market.

This month in My London, Lawrence Pollard hears tales of East London.

He flies with London's Air Ambulance, hearing how doctors respond to emergencies in the capital - and are preparing for the Olympic Games.

He goes shopping with international Sitar player and composer, Anoushka Shankar, in the colourful setting of Columbia Street flower market, cooks up a feast with celebrity chef Cyrus Todiwala and visits the Whitechapel Bell Foundry, the oldest manufacturing company still operating in the UK.

And after seeing the capital from the air, he also sees it from the water - travelling the Thames with a third generation waterman.
