Pat Barker: ‘Art tells the truth about war’
Booker Prize-winning author Pat Barker talks to Open Book’s Aminatta Forna about how art can portray the atrocities of war. Barker’s new book Toby’s Room is the second in a trilogy that follows students studying at The Slade School for Art during the Great War. After the central character Elinor Brooke hears that her brother Toby is missing presumed dead she searches for how and why he died.
