The role of women in Senegal
A woman discusses how women in Senegal can raise a family and work, something that was impossible to do in the past. We see an example of women who catch fish, then wash and sell them. This view has developed and it is becoming more acceptable for women to work. A 70-year-old woman describes how her husband never allowed her to work. However, her daughter has had a different experience with her husband who is accepting the fact that she can raise a family and work. Government support for this change in society has helped.
