First transmitted in 1965, Ian Trethowan presents a two-part current affairs programme focusing on the borough elections that have been taking place today.

First transmitted in 1965, a six per cent swing to the Conservatives in the local borough elections of 1965 is examined with the help of graphs and the swingometer. Pundit David Butler looks a little nonplussed towards the end of the report, as studio rumblings are explained away with an amused aside from fellow presenter Ian Trethowan.

Did You Know?

Following this stint as presenter of Gallery, Ian Trethowan was offered the post of managing director of 成人论坛 Radio in 1969. He decided to accept after being convinced by Huw Wheldon that he could never really hope to become a top-flight television performer. He successfully oversaw some of the tricky early years of Radios 1, 2, 3 and 4 and was appointed Director-General in 1977, a post that he held until his retirement from the 成人论坛 in 1982.
