The 2010 TV election debates were hailed as a success. So will they happen again? Leala Padmanabhan reports.

What are the chances of the party leaders again taking party in live televised debates at the next general election? Until the last election we'd never had them in this country but they were hailed by many as a huge success, with audience figures peaking at more than nine million. Televised leader debates are now held at election time in 80 countries - including Iran, Mongolia and Afghanistan. As Leala Padmanabhan has been finding out, it's far from certain.
