Telling a story through music - mirror patterns
Children learn how to tell a story through music, using the story of Petrushka by Stravinsky as an example. Stravinsky uses mirrored sounds to portray the mixed up feelings of the clown. The result is an edgy, uncomfortable sensation. The children are shown how to play the mirror game by copying a partner's action. This is then demonstrated by playing a mirrored pattern on the piano.
