50 Years of Doctor Who: Rutland Water
Later tonight Doctor Who fans from across the world will be settling down to enjoy a special, 50th Anniversary edition of Britain's longest running drama.
Plot details are top secret, but we do know that the show will reflect some of the Doctor's travels across time and space.
But in the late 80's those travels brought Sylvester McCoy's Doctor right here to Leicestershire and Rutland.
In 1989, the Tardis landed at Rutland Water, filming around the village of Upper Hambleton, which doubled as the fictional town of Carbury.
While hardly a classic episode, it did mark a significant turning point in TV history, as the four part episode filmed there, "Battlefield" began the final series before a 16 year break for the show.
On a particularly windy day, 成人论坛 Radio Leicester's Matt Smith went back the locations at Rutland Water, with some of the members Starbase Leicester - a local fan group, to look back at the episode, and the show:
