East Midlands Today joins soldiers from across the region on operations in Helmand Province.

We visit the Royal Anglians’ 2nd Battalion as they hand over security of the city of Lashkar Gah to local Afghan security forces.

We meet soldiers from the 9th/12th Royal Lancers who are being sent into hostile territory to seize Taliban bombs and drugs.

And we see how Royal Engineers from Chilwell near Nottingham are dismantling the vast British base at Camp Bastion, that some of them designed and built.
