A team of researchers in Leicester have developed a way to identify the 'smell' of a highly infectious bacteria that causes diarrhoea, temperature and stomach cramps. The "electronic nose" sniffs out the bug 'Clostridium difficile' - more commonly known as C Diff - before it leads to rapid diagnosis of the condition. University of Leicester experts say that it could also be possible to identify different strains of the disease to target the particular problem.
