From the Rolling Stones to Kate Bush, photographer Gered Mankowitz has captured some of the most iconic images of rock and roll stars.

He was also the man who persuaded the "exquisite" Kate Bush to wear the famous pink leotard on the cover of 'Wuthering Heights'.

So what is life actually like as a rock and roll photographer?

Mankowitz said he was treated like "one of the band" when he toured America with the Rolling Stones in 1965, even appearing on stage with them.
