Paris Deputy Mayor ‘We are not afraid’

Deputy Mayor of Paris, Patrick Klugman, said Charlie Hebdo has been awarded a Paris citizen of honour award to show the city will "keep on fighting" for democracy.

He said this is the first time that a collective group rather than an individual has been given this honour. Mr Klugman added that Paris is "not afraid" and that the French capital is "a free city and will remain free".

He spoke on the third day of the search for the gunmen who killed 10 journalists and two policemen in the Paris offices of the Charlie Hebdo magazine.

French police have now surrounded a building in a northern town where the two brothers suspected of the Charlie Hebdo massacre have taken a hostage.
