US snow storms: 'It's like armageddon'
A state of emergency has been declared in several US states as a storm brings hurricane-force winds and up to a metre of snow down on the north-east.
Heavy snowfall is forecast from Philadelphia to Maine, falling up to four inches an hour in some areas. New York, New Jersey, Connecticut, Rhode Island and Massachusetts have declared states of emergency and 50 million people are expected to wake up to a foot of snow on Tuesday.
The writer and broadcaster Emma Freud is in New York as part of preparations for Red Nose Day USA and told 5 Live it's like armageddon and the streets are deserted.
