Iain Duncan-Smith: Universal Credit is 拢600m under budget
The new benefit - universal credit - is to be introduced across the country from tomorrow after delays caused by computer problems.
It replaces six other payments and should be offered by all job centres by this time next year.
The government's plan was criticised in a National Audit Office report as badly managed and failing to deliver on its targets.
But the Work and Pensions Secretary, Iain Duncan-Smith, said it had actually cost less than expected.
