Fizzy drink addict: 'I was drinking 17 pints of cola a day'
After professional golfer Peter Lawrie admitted his addiction to Coca-Cola, 5 live callers explained their own dependence on fizzy drinks.
Sarah from East Yorkshire admitted that she drinks 12 cans of cola "on a bad day", and has done for the last 15 years.
Jakki from Cheshire became obese due to drinking ten litres of cola a day. She says her doctor told her to drink diet cola instead, but Jakki claims she is now addicted to that.
She criticised the lack of help soft drink addicts get from GPs: "If you're a smoker they'll give you patches to get off cigarettes; if you're a drug addict they'll give you meth", adding "anything with soft drinks, they're not interested".
