Paula Hawkins: Happy to hand over contol of The Girl on the Train movie adaptation
Author Paula Hawkins reveals why she's happy to hand over control of the movie adaptation of her best-selling book The Girl on the Train to others.
Her debut novel is at the top of the New York Times bestseller list for the sixth week in a row, and the book rights have been sold to 40 countries. Stephen Spielberg's Dreamworks production company has already snapped up the option to make the movie of the novel, and the British author insists she will leave the movie-making to the experts.
She says: "Frankly, I've never written for film or television and I wouldn't have the confidence to do so at the moment. So I was quite happy to hand it over to someone else."
Work on her second novel is well underway, but Ms Hawkins confirmed it is not a sequel to The Girl on the Train.
