Wife of Motor Neurone Disease sufferer Steve Tucker describes him as "unbelievable" and admits there are times she "just can't believe that he wants to live".

Steve was diagnosed with the disease, most commonly associated with Professor Stephen Hawking, in 2010 when he and his wife Debbie were running a ski company in France

Speaking to 5 live Breakfast, Debbie described Steve as "the most fit and healthy person of his age I knew" whose passion is the outdoors.

Steve's illness has progressed to the point where he now cannot move or speak. Debbie describes caring for him as "quite exhausting" despite having five live-in carers.

She said "it's that emotional connection that's so hard when you're trying to care for somebody you love".

Filming My Father In Life and Death, a documentary filmed over the past four years by Steve's son Fraser and documentary maker Liz Tucker, will be on on Channel 5 at 7pm on Wednesday, March 11.
