What does 151-year-old grey wine taste like?
151-year-old grey wine found on a US civil war shipwreck has been described as tasting as "oceanic" with a hint of "saltiness".
The bottle was recovered four years ago from the wreck of the Mary-Celestia ship which sank off the coast of Bermuda in 1864.
The tasting was carried out by 50 people, including master sommeliers Laura Maniec and Paul Roberts, at a conference in South Carolina, America.
Speaking to 5 live Breakfast, Ms Maniec said she would "hesitate" to call the grey liquid wine due to the floating "sediment or substance".
Mr Roberts said the wine reminded him of "day old sea-food" with a smell of "sulpher, almost eggs".
Both sommeliers admitted the taste lingered for "an hour" with Ms Maniec saying "that's the sign of a good wine".
