Stowell: Jailed Peers should consider standing down

The Leader of the House of Lords is calling on Peers who were jailed before 2014 to consider standing down. The law was changed last year so that any Lord jailed for twelve months or more in the future is automatically expelled. Now Baroness Stowell says peers who were jailed before 2014 should consider resigning permanently from the House of Lords. Lord Archer was jailed for perjury in 2001 and Lord Taylor of Warwick was convicted of expenses fraud in 2011.
