Prince would do a 'song in a day'
The woman who created a secret vault of unreleased songs by the artist Prince tells 5live how he managed to build up such a massive unreleased archive. Susan Rogers spent five years working as Prince's sound engineer in the 1980s in the period from Purple Rain to the Black Album. She created his vault of recorded but unreleased material and she has been revealing how he can create a song from nothing in a day. She has told 5live that Prince would frequently play every instrument himself and he just wanted his engineer "to keep technology out of the way. He didn't want anything to slow down his process".
