George Foreman on Thrilla in Manila: 'The most brutal boxing match ever'

It's 40 years since Muhammad Ali and Joe Frazier stepped into the ring for the 鈥渕ost brutal boxing match that had ever taken place.鈥

That鈥檚 according to former boxer George Foreman who had just been beaten by Ali in the 鈥楻umble in the Jungle鈥. Ali postponed his retirement for the showdown with Joe Frazier in the Philippines.

George Foreman told 5 live: 鈥淚t was round after round after round鈥razier would win, Muhammad would win, nobody knew where that fight was going.鈥

Though he joked he 鈥楧isliked them both equally鈥 because of rivalry in the ring, he described Ali as one of the greatest and kindest man he鈥檇 ever known.
