Using data from the Dawn spacecraft, scientists make sense of the mysterious bright spots on surface of Ceres - the largest object in the main asteroid belt. They reveal a briny ice layer underneath the planetary body鈥檚 crust. In other research scientists find ammonia on the surface - which means Ceres must have formed in the outskirts of our Solar System - far far away from its current position.
