The link between the extinction of African wild dogs with the intervention of scientists

Roger Burrows's handling-stress hypothesis linked the extinction of African wild dogs in the Serengeti in Tanzania with the intervention of scientists. The scientists' monitoring methods - radio collars, vaccination and anaesthetisation - are alleged to have caused so much stress that the dogs became susceptible to rabies.
