Should exams be moved to help pupils fasting for Ramadan?
Plans are being discussed to reschedule exam timetables to take into account the impact of pupils fasting for Ramadan. The Islamic holy month shifts slightly each year in relation to the Western calendar. In 2016 it will run from 6th June to 5th July - which means there's an overlap with exam time. And there are concerns this could have a detrimental impact on results. The Christian Institute says you shouldn't change the rules just to accommodate a minority. Caller Shahid agrees and shares his views with Sheetal.
