Ethiopia’s Lost Manuscripts
Pillaged by the British army in 1868, Ethiopia’s Magdala manuscripts could soon return
Alice Martin discusses the significance of Ethopia’s Magdala manuscripts – a collection of religious texts curated over 150 years ago by Emperor Theodore.
With the best manuscripts now kept at the British Museum in London, a campaign is underway to return the historic documents to their country of origin.
