The Siege of Sarajevo
During the break-up of the former Yugoslavia, Bosnian Serb forces laid siege to Sarajevo, the capital of Bosnia, for more than four years. Hundreds of thousands of people were trapped in the city and were only sustained by UN humanitarian aid.
Vedrana Seksan was a 15 year old girl when the war broke out in 1992. She spoke to Witness about living under the constant threat of violence.
