Should women who are pregnant be performing Hajj?
The Hajj Committee of India's guidelines prohibits any woman in advanced stages of pregnancy to go on Hajj. Bareilly Haj Sewa Samiti secretary Nazim Beg said that "the decision has been taken in view of the safety and health of pregnant women." The directive has come from the chief executive officer of the Hajj Committee of India, Ata-ur-Rehman, who added that the HCI has asked all centres in the country to convey the decision to all pregnant women who have applied for the Hajj pilgrimage this year.
