Sikhs wearing the kirpan in public
A mum in Melbourne is reportedly calling for a change in law to prevent people be able to carry a knife on religious grounds. This was after she told a local paper her son felt intimidated when seeing someone wear a kirpan in a food hall. This comes soon after a story reported last month of a primary school issuing guidance to parents who wore the kirpan on their premises - it said that parents could wear it as long as they did so discreetly.
