Should couples who argue too much split up for the sake of their children?
A study, carried out by the charity Relate, suggests that almost one in five of couples in the UK argue regularly or consider splitting up. It was based on a survey of nearly 21,000 people in relationships from 2013 to 2015. Unsurprisingly, it's the children in such relationships who appear to have been affected the most. A spokesperson for Relate, Dr David Marjoribanks, says the impact of constant arguing can lead to kids doing badly at school and even developing mental and physical health problems. So much so, he says, that ending the relationship can actually have a positive impact on children caught in the middle. Do you agree with that? Should you always split up for the sake of the kids? Or do you think it's better for a child that they have two parents living under the same roof - rather than being pulled between different households? Callers Amy and 'Sunita' share their views with Nihal.
