Thousands of people have attended the first day of the 176th Suffolk Show at Trinity Park on the outskirts of Ipswich.

Despite wet weather, crowds enjoyed a host of displays including military vehicles, farm animals, tasty foods and fiery farriers.

The show has reported trade and sponsorship stands are both at record levels this year, but the show director says traditional agricultural values are still at the show's heart.
