1300 metres high in the 艩ar Mountains of southern Kosovo lies a village whose population has fallen from over a thousand to less than one hundred. Where the residents used to make a living as farmers from livestock and vegetables, many have now left to find work in cities and further abroad. To save the village from disappearing completely, the region of Draga拧 has collaborated with surrounding mountain villages to draw on a natural resource: the wild strawberry. From these small but intensely flavoured fruits, the villagers have started to produce and sell jam. Now they have plans to cultivate the strawberry, to help revive the village economy one seed at a time.
