The legacy of the strikers in saris

This month marks the fortieth anniversary of a strike in which Asian women took on an employer in a dispute seen as a landmark in industrial relations. Their fight for union recognition lasted two years. At times there were up to 20,000 people protesting outside the Grunwick photo processing plant in North West London. It was led by mother of two Jayaben Desai. Shabnam Mahmood spoke to Jayaben's son Sunil about what happened in the summer of 1976.
