Ben Cooper is Controller, ³ÉÈËÂÛ̳ Radio 1 and ³ÉÈËÂÛ̳ Radio 1Xtra and a member of the ³ÉÈËÂÛ̳’s Radio board. He is also a fellow of the Radio Academy. Ben is accountable for leading the remit of Radio 1, to entertain and engage a broad range of young listeners with a distinctive mix of contemporary music and speech and 1Xtra, to play the best in contemporary black music with a strong emphasis on live music and supporting new UK artists. He has been acknowledged for bold scheduling changes, rejuvenating Radio 1’s audience and renewing its focus towards 15-29 year olds.

Ben McOwen Wilson is the Director for YouTube, EMEA, where he leads the development of content strategy in Europe. Prior to starting with YouTube, Ben was the Director of Online and Interactive at ITV Plc, where he oversaw ITV’s digital and new media businesses. During his tenure, he co-created and was chairman of Project Kangaroo - the proposed VoD joint venture between ³ÉÈËÂÛ̳, channel 4 and ITV. A former strategy consultant, Ben has over fourteen years’ experience in the fields of media, entertainment, telecommunications and the internet and has lived and worked on five continents.
