It's often said that if you can't beat them, join them.

That's the plan of action for one group in North West Leicestershire who are facing the prospect of HS2. Rather than dig their heels in over the coming rail line, the Packington response team have proposed an alternative route through Leicestershire.
It's based on an earlier HS2 plan which cuts out Packington, Measham and Appleby Magna entirely, and sends the train in the direction of Newton Burgoland.
