Police Need To Improve How They Tackle Modern Slavery

A report by the Inspectorate of Constabulary says victims of modern slavery are being let down at every stage by police forces.

A report by the Inspectorate of Constabulary says victims of modern slavery are being let down at every stage by police forces. Modern slavery offences include people doing work for low or no wages, and people being trafficked for prostitution. Northamptonshire Police say they have a small team working on such offences in the County, but need more information from the public.

A review of the financial situation at Northamptonshire County Council by the the Local Government Association is critical of how the council is performing financially. It says the authority is centred on short term survival and its future financial plans are built on a very optimistic basis.
