Does 'political correctness' control the political debate?
One of the explanations for Donald Trump's victory in the US presidential election was that it was a push-back against the cultural issues championed on the left, issues around identity, race, religion, gender, and sexuality that had moved to the mainstream in the Obama years; many people - mostly white males - sought a return to times when roles were traditionally defined and people weren't worried by 'political correctness'. Owen Bennett Jones brought together Jeffrey Gedmin from Georgetown University, Abi Wilkinson from The Guardian, and James Delingpole from Breitbart and The Spectator to discuss the backlash against 'political correctness' in the US and Europe.
