France won the World Cup for the second time in Russia; 20 years on from their maiden victory on home soil. More than half of the 23 players selected by manager Didier Deschamps claim some African heritage, leading some to call this French side the 'most successful African team of all time'. Others have been tweeting that Africa won its first World Cup, but in French colours.
