"A lot of employers see the disability before they see the person"
Ross is visually impaired, registered blind and has mobility issues. He feels that when it comes to employment, a lot of employers see his disability rather than him as a person. So when a coffee shop gave him an opportunity, he was nervous and determined to prove himself.
Although there were things he couldn't do, Ross realised that his strengths lay in his people skills and even though he couldn't make coffee, he was more than capable of working the till. His advice to any employer is look beyond the disability and give them a chance to prove themselves.
